Delightful Poems and Pictures

When I was a child our mother would sit in the rocking chair, lift my brother and me to her lap and read to us from A Child’s Garden of Verses by Robert Louis Stevenson. The book was lost and while browsing through used book stores for a replacement, I was astounded by the number of artists who have illustrated these verses over the years. There and then began the effort to acquire as many as possible.
Illustrators have fashioned the poems into pop-up books and illustrated them with famous paintings and photographs. They have been translated into at least Spanish and appear in braille and large print. The poetry is available as an e-book and on kindle. The verses have been set to music. The spoken and musical words have been recorded on cassettes and discs. There is a board book, a baby book, a daybook and one in miniature. If you have additional illustrators and discoveries kindly email them to me.
